People in Focus: John Gilsenan, Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers

John Gilsenan is the new Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers (IACT) representative  in  the European Association of Corporate Treasurers (EACT), succeeding Lorcan Travers. IACT, established in 1987, is a not-for-profit organisation with a current membership of over 400, including practising treasurers  from major Irish public companies, multinationals  and commercial state entities, as well as  a significant number of smaller and medium-sized companies. The aims of the Association are to encourage and promote the study and practice of treasury management in Ireland, set guidelines  for best practice and act as a forum for treasurers to interact and network with their peers and service providers.

IACT  holds an annual dinner in Dublin and organises seminars, conferences, training courses and social events, including a golf day, for members. The Association is a member of the International Group of Treasury Associations (IGTA) as well as the EACT.

John is a past President of IACT and has long experience in the international financial services industry working in senior management, finance and treasury roles. He has spent the major part of his career with Porsche International Financing, involved in corporate treasury, cash management bond issuance and reinsurance. He is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant, a Chartered Tax Accountant  and Licentiate of the Compliance Officers of Ireland.
