Two New Awards for Innovation & Excellence for BELLIN

Published

BELLIN, a global leader in providing web-based treasury software and services for multinational corporations, has again been recognized as an industry leader, winning the 2015 Awards for Innovation & Excellence in Treasury & Risk Management in two categories – Best Bank Connectivity Solution and Best Trade Finance Solution.

The Awards for Innovation & Excellence are sponsored by Treasury Management International and were introduced more than 10 years ago. In this time, they have become firmly established as the quality benchmark for the treasury profession, formally recognizing the banks, vendors, consultants and practitioners who are defining new frontiers and driving best practices in treasury management globally. In winning the awards, BELLIN’s treasury management system, tm5, was recognized for providing innovation and excellence in the areas of bank connectivity and trade finance.

The first award is in the “Best Banking Connectivity Solution” category. tm5 is one of the most powerful treasury solutions but also meets all requirements of a global payment factory in the same system. It offers integrated, full bank connectivity via both host-to-host connections and local standards like EBICS, but also the outstanding and uniquely embedded BELLIN SWIFT Service. This results in an all-around payment solution that is electronic and mobile and works in real time, independent of banks — all available to an unlimited number of users anywhere in the world. It offers “four-dimensional” payment functionality: multi-country and multi-bank processing of both domestic and cross-border payments. The connectivity also allows for the collection of bank statements, trade confirmations (matching), and the processing of electronic guarantees or letters of credit (LCs). All eBAM and payment factory needs are covered. This comprehensive and modern solution to bank connectivity and has played a pioneering role in improving treasury standards of globally operating corporations.

The second award is in the “Best Trade Finance Solution” category. The comprehensive and unique offering in tm5 exceeds the standard aspects of recording trade finance deals, with a particular focus on the pivotal topic of letters of credit (LCs). As part of the optimization of trade finance processes, the electronic opening of LCs and guarantees is possible directly out of tm5. The communication with issuing banks is done via EBICS or the client’s SWIFT code made available by the BELLIN SWIFT Service and is fully integrated into tm5: opening, authorizing, sending, managing, monitoring and adjusting of deals can be handled either by the central treasury or in each group company. With electronic processing of trade finance deals, companies can now optimize their internal processes globally and monitor the respective credit lines without any delay; they also have an overview of the various maturities, all of which boost visibility.

“We are very excited about this recognition! Being awarded in not just one, but two categories – “Best Trade Finance Solution” and “Best Bank Connectivity Solution” – in the prestigious Treasury Management International Awards is a great achievement and shows that our continued efforts in these fundamental treasury disciplines are being recognized by the industry at large. The spirit of innovation is inherent in our culture at BELLIN and front and center in our corporate vision. We are always searching for the next great idea and the next great technology to lead treasuries forward,” shares Martin Bellin.
